“The Economist” on Gov. Rick Perry

An article from this week’s @TheEconomist on Texas’ @GovernorPerry:

“Mr Perry has served for over a decade, and nobody else can claim the credit either for protecting and advancing the Texas model or for making it into the best single example of the general Republican proposition that all it takes to unleash America’s animal spirits is for government to get out of the way.”

Texas as a model for the Republican proposition and California as a model of the Democrat proposition. Just step back and think about that for a second.

Texas, FTW.

Presidential Leisure

On this Memorial day, Pres. Obama joined with a few of White House aides and played his 70th round of golf since becoming President; a sport that Pres. Bush gave up early in his presidency ”out of respect for the families of those killed in Iraq.”

What is Fmr Pres. Bush doing for leisure these days?

Last month, Pres. Bush joined with several wounded veterans and sponsored a 100k mountain biking trip through the South Texas desert. http://www.w100k.com/

When it comes to honoring those who give their all for us…

I’ll take the Texan any day.
