Chevy Ad Response, FTW
“We stand by our claims in the commercial, that the Silverado is the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickup on the road. We can wait until the world ends, and if we need to, we will apologize. In the meantime, people who are really worried about the Mayan calendar coming true should buy a Silverado right away.”
GM Global Chief Marketing Officer Joel Ewanick, responding to...

Jay-Z the Hypocrite
Recently the self-titled “best rapper alive” came out publicly to say:
“I wouldn’t mind paying more taxes if it went to the things that really mattered,” adding that if the money goes towards health care, education, and to help people, “most people with a conscience, with some integrity, and moral fiber wouldn’t have any problem paying more taxes.”
We all have our...

Talking with @brucetifft Before the Mutemath...
Dad: Is this something we have to bring our own chairs for?
Me: No
Dad: Do they have chairs there?
Me: Nope
Dad: You've got to be kidding me.
Me: Why?
Dad: We've got to stand up all night?!?!
Me: That's what you do at a general admission, outdoor show.
Dad: Ughhh...

Yet Some Reject Any Similarity
Obama: First, if you're a business that wants to outsource jobs, you shouldn't get a tax deduction for doing it. That money should be used to cover moving expenses for companies like Master Lock that decide to bring jobs home. From now on, every multinational company should have to pay a basic minimum tax. And every penny should go towards lowering taxes for companies that choose to stay here and hire here.
Marx: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

#OWS "Tax the 1 Percent!" (We Already Do)
Amongst the protests and the opinions, one message has clearly emanated out of the “Occupy Wall Street” protests: The rich (1%) don’t pay their fair share, and should be taxed to establish fairness.
Looking at fairness as simple equality, (e.g. you take one half of the pizza, I take the other) there is a dirty little secret, the 1% already pay their fair share.
According to...

"The Economist" on Gov. Rick Perry
An article from this week’s @TheEconomist on Texas’ @GovernorPerry:
“Mr Perry has served for over a decade, and nobody else can claim the credit either for protecting and advancing the Texas model or for making it into the best single example of the general Republican proposition that all it takes to unleash America’s animal spirits is for government to get out of the...

US Men's Team 2-0 Win!
Clint Dempsey scores the second goal to give the US a 2-0 win against Jamaica. As he said after the game, “we were going to keep making opportunities until we scored, now we’re taking it back to Texas for the semi-finals .”
This goal made Dempsey the 5th all-time goal scorer for the US Men’s Team.
Gotta love the Texan! USA! USA! USA!
